Coro Allegro celebrates the centennial of legendary Boston gay composer Daniel Pinkham as well as our own 30 years of singing with pride with Artistic Director David Hodgkins. We mark these anniversaries with a work written by Pinkham for Coro Allegro's 5th anniversary. Based on Jubilate Agno,18th-century English neurodivergent poet Christopher Smart's soaring celebration of the exceptional diversity of creation. Pinkham's wonder-filled cantata is paired with the vocal fireworks of Hadyn’s late, great mass for troubled times. We also invite you to experience Many Mansions, a powerful spiritual, movingly reimagined by Dr. White-Clayton for today's troubled times, with George Floyd, Black lives, and Covid losses in mind. Coro Allegro was honored to premiere the work, commissioned by the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, in the summer of 2022.
